Hostel XAXID

Zazid is situated in the heart of inner Istria, so the highest mountains in the area can be reached by foot in one day. Foot-paths are in good condition and marked so that with the local maps and some good tips from us you shouldn't have problems with orientation. We can also arrange you guided tours. The most famous peaks in the vicinity are Slavnik (Istrian highest mountain), Kojnik, Golič, Lipnik, Kavčič, Kuk, Lačna, and many others. Nearby are small caves, which are not marked, so the guidance is needed.

In the hostel you can rent a bike and just go wherever you want. For larger groups we also organize biking tours around Istria and Carst. Bike tours can be from 40 up to 100 kilometers long.

Climbing area in Osp, the largest climbing area in Slovenia is only 12 km away from Zazid. Also Črni Kal climbing area is just 7 km away. Both climbing areas are most visited from September to May. They represent the only Central and Eastern European climbing area with the mild mediteran climate in winter. Climbing sites have great limestone rock and include all climbing levels. Easier routes are in Črni Kal, more difficult ones are in Osp (Mišja peč). - You can borrow climbing guide in the hostel.
